The Story Behind Aarion's

Snip20160707_1Our son, Aaron who was born in 1986 had a chronic health problem leading to multiple health procedures and surgeries which ultimately resulted in his all too early passing. At the time of his death, a friend sent to us our foundation bitch: CocoaPort's Sol Resplendar (Sunshine). Sunshine was meant to bring a little "sunshine" into our lives. This was only fitting to us as Aaron loved puppies and playing with them always brought him joy and laughter. Our kennel name, Aarion's, is in remembrance of Aaron as he is the reason that we got into showing and breeding dogs. It is our sincere hope that each new family that adopts one of our puppies, will treasure and love them in the way that Aaron did. Aarion's originally from Cincinnati, Ohio moved to sunny Florida in 2009, and has been involved in showing and breeding quality champion Portuguese Water Dogs since 1989. Our dogs are all cared for in a loving home environment with plenty of exercise and fresh air. Puppies are temperament tested to determine the best personality for families who desire an Aarion puppy. We place our puppies in homes that will provide the love, time, and care necessary for the breed. All puppies are sold on Spay/Neuter Contracts to approved homes. Our puppies are examined by our veterinarian before going to their new homes and we require that puppies are vet checked again, within 48 hours of going to their new homes.

About Portuguese Water Dogs

Portuguese-Water-Dog65jpgKnown for centuries along Portugal’s coast, this seafaring breed was prized by fishermen for a spirited, yet obedient nature, and a robust, medium build that allowed for a full day’s work in and out of the water. The Portuguese Water Dog is a swimmer and diver of exceptional ability and stamina, who aided his master at sea by retrieving broken nets, herding schools of fish, and carrying messages between boats and to shore. He is a loyal companion and alert guard. This highly intelligent utilitarian breed is distinguished by two coat types, either curly or wavy; an impressive head of considerable breadth and well-proportioned mass; a ruggedly built, well-knit body; and a powerful, thickly based tail, carried gallantly or used purposefully as a rudder. The Portuguese Water Dog provides an indelible impression of strength, spirit, and soundness.
